Top 10 Frequently Asked Questions about Essential Oils & Young Living

This are the top 10 frequently asked question I always get from people around me. Its all about essential oil and Young Living. Having say that, the most high frequency is – if they do required to sell products, and if they need to keep stock at home when they decided to sell.

Amazingly surprise that many people actually thought that when you joined as distributor (member) under Young Living, you need to sell. Wait a minute, there is not a guideline that stipulate you have to sell it. There are many people that joined and buying it for their own consumption. If you choose to sell, you can always refer to your enroller or sponsor for more information and assistance. They should be able to help you with the information you needed before kick starting your side income with Young Living. By sharing the benefits of Young Living essential oils, you will be earning commission by enrolling new distributors. The choice is very much depend on you.

Plus, you don’t have to keep stock and open a mini store at your house because every new distributor (member) will have their own account to manage. So, yes, no capital is required for taking up spaces for the so called “ready stock” at home.

Top 10 frequently asked questions (not in ranking order) :

1. Do I have to sell?
Absolutely NOT ! This question is one of the most frequently asked among us when debating on whether to grab a premium starter kit or not. Don’t worry, you don’t have to sell any. There is no requirement to have a business. But if you do decide to get more essential oils into your family and circle of friends, we will guide you in every steps.

2. Is there a yearly membership fee? Or any hidden costs?
NO ! there is no yearly membership fee for any of the customer/member options. However, as a Wholesale Member/Distributor, there is a one-time purchase of one of the starter kits to get started and attain the wholesale pricing. Also, you must purchase 50PV in product a year to remain an “active” Wholesale Member/Distributor. Any prices you see are the prices, that’s it. No hidden costs or charges anywhere, just the product price, shipping, and tax. There are never any additional charges or hidden charges ever.

3. Do I have to buy every month?
NO ! There is no monthly fixed commitment (except for Essential Reward Program). You don’t have to buy every month. You can buy as often (or not) as you wish.

4.Which essential oils are photosensitive? Can they burn my skin?
Some single essential oils and blends can cause photosensitivity and may cause burns if you are exposed to sunlight after applying the oil directly to your skin. Some of our most popular oils that fit this category are Lemon, Grapefruit, Bergamot, Peace & Calming, Citrus Fresh and Joy. There are also risks associated with other oils. Read the caution label on the back of every oil, so you can experience their fantastic benefits to the fullest!

5. Are essential oils still effective and safe if they’ve been left in the heat?
It’s best to store your essential oils in a cool, dry place. UV exposure will cause the greatest damage to the oil’s constituents, and combining heat exposure with light exposure will negatively affect your oils more quickly. If your delivery package is sitting in the heat for several hours but the oils are not directly exposed to UV rays, the oils will not.

6. How should essential oils be stored?
Tightly seal your essential oil bottles and store them upright in a dark, dry location. Make sure the oils are stored in a location where the temperature will remain consistent, be compromised. If the oil is hot, cool it before using.

7.How will I know which oils to use for what?
One of the benefits of getting a starter kit through us is that you also get to join our member support group that’s specifically for questions about essential oils! The reference guide that we are giving away as part of this promotion is also a HUGE resource. You can look up almost anything in it and see which essential oils and supplements can be helpful.

8. Does Young Living only sell essential oils?
NO ! Young Living actually has an entire line of personal care products, supplements, meal replacements, energy drinks, and more! Almost every product incorporates essential oils (for example, frankincense is absolutely wonderful in facial products), but there’s a wide variety of products available.

9. If I do want to sell, do I keep inventory?
NO ! If you tell friends about it and they love it – then they will sign up and create their own account. Everyone does their own ordering and the products are shipped right to their house. It really isn’t complicated and you aren’t taking any risk.

10. How many drops are in a 5-ml and 15-ml bottle of essential oil?
There are approximately 85 drops (1 teaspoon) in a 5-ml bottle and approximately 250 drops (1 tablespoon) in a 15-ml bottle.

Emotional Release Therapy with Essential Oils

Do you actually move on when you said, “I forgive you” – “It’s okay” – “whatever” – “I’ve move on” ?? Sometimes, we are just act cool about it. And, we thought that we are over it. But in actual fact, WE DIDN’T !! We just suppress it and buried it deep down in our heart.
When all this negative feeling such as anger, anxiety, fear, resentment, and frustration locked in your heart, your body tends to be heavier and toxic. These negative emotional states can create extra stress in your body and your mind, which is uncomfortable but also can lead to health issues if you do not manage it well. As such, managing negative emotions is more about embracing the fact that we are feeling them, determining why we are feeling this way, and allowing ourselves to receive the messages that they are sending us before we release them and move forward.
Emotional Release Therapy is a technique to help BALANCE energies in the body and the subconscious mind, it helps to promote emotional release of negative stored memories, and aids programming the mind with positive beliefs. It is a technique which can be performed on oneself & is easy to repeat for family & friends. We all have times in life when emotions can overcome us.

“Research at New York University proved the amygdale gland (the gland in the limbic system of the brain that stores and releases trauma in the body) does not respond to sound, sight, or touch, but ONLY releases emotional trauma through the sense of SMELL.”   – From Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils by Carolyn Mein

In this therapy, we will be using the Feeling Kit Collection by Young Living. There are six fantastic essential oils in the Feelings Kit (Valor, Harmony, Forgiveness, Inner Child, Release, and Present Time). Each essential oil works in a different way to help release whatever is holding you back from reaching your true potential!

VALOR | an empowering blend for courage and balance
HARMONY | to support balance all your energy centers
FORGIVENESS | to help release hurtful memories
RELEASE | facilitates the release of anger and hurt
PRESENT TIME | so you can more easily be in the now
INNER CHILD | encourages reconnecting with your authentic self and may stimulate the memory response

feeling kit collection.jpg

For each blend we apply, we will say an affirmation. It’s all about intention. When we say an affirmation as we apply our oil, we are putting an intention into the action to release or gain something. As we repeat the affirmation over several applications, we will create a scent memory and start to associate that oil with the intention we set. Over time we can actually create a new belief system in our mind that moves us toward a positive emotional state. This new belief system can eventually override old, destructive belief systems and patterns that are holding us back in life.

If you are ready, find yourself a cozy, quiet place and balance your emotions. Prepare a glass of water, and all your essential oils in the order as follow :

1.Valor
2. Harmony
3. Forgive
4. Release
5. Present Time
6. Inner Child

Testimonial : Abundance, Joy & White Angelica

Quoted by Sharen Wee

Lucky Draw 🍀 Lucky Me VS Magical of Essential Oil 🔮

Hah !! If you want to know what happened behind the story behind it .. keep reading 😉

You read about the law of attraction (Abundance); protection against the negativity (White Angelica) and staying happy mood (Joy) in my previous post. This is part 2 of each oils I’m going to say.

Law of Attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, people can bring positive or negative experiences into their life. The belief is based on the idea that people and their thoughts are both made from pure energy, and that through the process of like energy attracting like energy a person can improve their own health, wealth, and personal relationships.

Abundance was created to enhance the frequency of the harmonic magnetic energy field that surrounds us. This manifesting and powerful blend creates what is called “the law of attraction,” which refers to the positive (or negative) energy we attract to ourselves by focusing on it. Abundance therefore opens us to a wealth of possibilities.

And then, there is another oil named White Angelica – believed to have powers to amplify and strengthen the body’s aura. Many people use it as protection against negative energy.

Lastly, Joy – formulated to invite a sense of romance, bliss, and warmth. With the sweet scent, it helps to uplift your mood and stay joyful at all time. Of course, smell great throughtout the day.

I like the combination of these 3 essential oil on my necklace diffuser because the length is perfectly on the chest (which is closer to the heart). Simply drop a few drops on it and 1 or 2 drops on paln, rub it and inhale..

Here’s the trick : Speak it / talk to yourself (Pray for it). What you are expecting/ wanting to change – just anything. Repeat it a few times while inhaling. Stay positive and you’ll definitely feel the difference.

Never thought that I’ll win this home. Together with my new friends, we put on the above oils – and the rest is history. She too won prize from lucky draw. Really enjoyed myself at the event. And, to know bunch of great leaders, great people.. their knowledge and sharing is priceless and eventhough, it was a short trip, I can say I learned a lot !! Looking forward next one ~

Oh yeah, if you want to know – you can still enjoy free 5ml Joy essential oil and 15ml Abundance essential oil. Promotion valid until 15/Jan/2019 only.

Right Brain Left Brain & Essential Oils

If you already know or you didnt know that our brain is divided into right and left brain where –

Right brain

Creativity • Imagination • Holistic Thinking • Intuition • Arts • Musics (Beats) • Non Verbal • Feelings • Visualisation

Left brain

Logic • Analysis • Sequencing • Linear • Mathematics • Language • Facts • Computation • Strategies

And how does essential oils effect helps stimulate our brain? Do you use the right oils to stimulate your brain?

Our right brain is attracted stronger scents whereas our left brain is attracted to sweeter scents. For example, Peppermint, Oregano, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Lemon etc are very good example of essential oils for right brain; and Lavender, Geranium, Orange, Rose etc are good example of essential oils for left brain.

If you want to stimulate either one part of your brain to enhance the thinking or bringing out your creativity – simply inhale directly with closing either one nose. Example, you want to stimulate your right brain function with Lavender essential oil, you close your left nostril – inhale deeply. As simple as that.

Essential Oils School of Thought – English, German & French

Generally, there are three schools of thought – namely the English, German and French when it comes to essential oils. They are all very different in how they approach oils and the people who follow each school can get very passionate about what they believe.

The English school uses inhalation and topical application. They tend to err on the side of caution, having a long list of oils that they don’t use and also a limited list of oils that they feel are appropriate on children. They also insist on significantly diluting the essential oils with carrier oil prior to application. They keep things highly diluted. Please refer to the guide below for dilution.

The German school focuses their essential oils primarily by inhalation. They tend to avoid ingestion and topical use. Research shows that therapeutic qualities can be obtained this way, especially where it concerns mood. Aromatic compounds impact the sense of smell and can exert strong effect on the brain (hypothalamus) and limbic system. Inhalation is also one of the most direct and quickest ways to get essential oils into your system because by breathing them in, you are bypassing the skin or stomach.

The French school prescribes the ingestion and undiluted topical application of the therapeutic grade essential oils. The French school developed in the 1930’s in France, although historical documents show ingestion going all the way back to ancient Egypt. Most common form of internal use is to add couple drops into honey, or bread, or small amount of vegetable oil. They also promote the daily ingestion of essential oils to aid in detoxing and immune support.

Can Young Living Essential Oils be used in all this three models?

Yes, you can.

However, due to different international market (for example in Malaysia) which have different import and health regulations that may classify YLEO differently – only the first two model is being use – topical and inhalation. The FDA has separate categories for topical and internal usage, they must be labeled separately.  Therefore, in 2016 – Young Living had to provide a different “sku” number and different label in order to provide a way to promote both internal and topical use.  The Vitality Oils allow Young Living to stay within the compliant FDA guidelines since the FDA does not allow more than one use per “sku” number.

Young Living’s essential oils and Vitality oils are the exact same oil. Vitality is labeled for internal usage and the regular oils for topical and aromatic usage. The oils are equal in every way–they come from the same farms, from the same plants, are bottled the same way, and so on. The only difference is the label. What’s setting them apart is that the Vitality oils are labeled for internal usage whereas the regular essential oils are labeled for aromatic and topical usage.

dilution guide.jpg

Since the regulation in Malaysia differs from other international market, the most common practice of essential oils here are the English and German way – Inhalation and Application.

For application, it is recommended to dilute the essential oils accordingly and be extra cautious when handling hot oils such as Oregano, Thyme, Thieves, Cinnamon Bark, Peppermint etc. Always do a patching test on sensitive area such as forearm, and underneath neck and monitor for 1 – 2 hours. If no irritation occurs, you may proceed to apply to other part of your body. If there is irritation, DO NOT use water to wash it off (because oil and water does not mixed – it will only make it worse). Instead, you should use more carrier oil on it or reduce the essential oil in future usage.

Which is your favorite way to using essential oil? Comment down below 🙂

I personally loves all school of thoughts as the essential oils effect work differently. However, most common way I use is English (both direct inhalation and diffuse) and German (body massage and topical application – vita flex & raindrop therapy). When this 2 method combined, it worked even better.

Since I was diagnosed with sinusitis, I begin using essential oils such as RC, Thieves, Oregano, Lemon, Eucalyptus Radiata, Raven, Peppermint, Frankincense, Purification and Copaiba (to magnify the essential oil). At the beginning, I was only diffusing the oils – the effect is obvious. I’m able to blow out the mucus easily and it is more than before (before essential oil). When I did application on the vitaflex point, chest, sinus area, – the  effect is even more obvious. And what most important, no more restless night due to congestion and nasal blockage. The mentioned oils are good for cough and removing phlegm as well.

Why Young Living is Expensive?

Often you get this remark when people asked what brand of essential oil is the best or you’re using. And when you tell them that you’re using Young Living, their first remark is “Wow !! But, isn’t that expensive?”

Well, I always believe that you’ll get what you paid for. Yes, indeed it is expensive among other brands, but you’re getting 100% pure and therapeutic essential oil distilled, cold pressed etc directly from the respective plants, barks, flowers etc.. Often people opt for the cheaper oil due to budget constraint, but many of them overlook the ingredients.

I came across this posting and I find it beneficial to share with all of you. Please read through the writing by Jami Nato.

Incredible post from Diamond Jami Nato!

“Why we only use Young Living oils. Great and CRAZY info we all need to know! 😳

Shared from Jami Nato…

I love target but this essential oil is in the dollar section and it’s a big no for me !

Here are the ingredients and you can compare them side by side to young living. Not only is this cheap one mostly full of fillers and not the actual oil, it’s number one ingredient is, from my research, problematic. YL’s cedarwood oil has one ingredient : uhmmmm, cedarwood oil.

This could have one drop cedarwood oil from an unknown source and 100 drops filler and fluff. And still be called “natural” and an “essential oil”.

Mineral oil : a by-product of petroleum in the gasoline industry A 2011 report by the National Toxicology Program, for example, stated, “Untreated and mildly treated mineral oils are known to be human carcinogens based on sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity from studies in humans.”

Cosmetics, on the other hand, supposedly use “cosmetic grade” mineral oil, which is more purified than technical grade. (Keep in mind this is highly unregulated with no testing requirements or accountability )Studies have not linked this oil with cancer, but scientists have expressed concern about it. A 2011 study, for example, reported that contamination could be a relevant source of “mineral oil contamination.” Researchers stated, “There is strong evidence that mineral oil hydrocarbons are the greatest contaminant of the human body, amounting to approximately 1 gram per person. Possible routes of contamination include air inhalation, food intake, and dermal [skin] absorption.”

The went on to remove fat specimens from women who underwent cesarean sections, and also collected milk samples from the women after delivery. They found that both fat and milk samples were contaminated with mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons—and stated that these compounds likely accumulated over time from repeated exposure. “Cosmetics might be a relevant source of the contamination,” they stated.

An earlier 2008 study noted a similar concern about “mineral oil contamination,” and stated that it has “not been proven convincingly” that this contaminant can be tolerated without health concerns. “It has been shown that the molecular mass of the mineral paraffins [another name for mineral oil] resorbed by our body is higher than assumed by the safety evaluation of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Further, probably a majority of the mineral oil products are not ‘white paraffin oils’: they easily contain 30% aromatic component, a substantial proportion being alkylated adding to the health risk.”

In lay terms, that means that these scientists are concerned that much of the mineral oil we are exposed to on a daily basis does contain contaminants that could affect our health. They’re also stating that this topic has not been sufficiently studied to really put our minds at ease. Taken from https://www.bewell.com
